Gru

Jacy met this intriguing guy at a friend's home one brisk evening in January.  His name was Pablo. Jacy had discovered in the single world face to face meetings are always better when deciding if a date could even be a possibility.

Jacy had no problem asking a guy, she has just met, out.  She was confident and knew what she wanted and when.

This guy was nice, funny, entertaining and slightly plump.  Jacy decided weight was a non factor these days.  As long as the guy was single and decent she would at least give him a shot.

Pablo however never followed through on their date.  He kept in touch occasionally and always hoped to see her at their mutual friends home, but that date never solidified.

Jacy was indifferent.  She dated other guys and just figured the guy was not really a big dater.

And than it happened.  The actual plan for a date.

He impressed her with a nice dinner and fancy wine.  Jacy was digging the whole wine and dine experience.  A far cry from draft beer and tacos on prior dates.

She thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and the slight way she made him uncomfortable with her off remarks and ridiculous banter.  Pablo had no idea where he stood, Jacy loved that dynamic.

Two bottles of wine into the date, all was over.  Jacy forgot his resemblance to Gru from the Minions and with her eyes closed, as they kissed, he could have been the hottest guy ever.

They went out a few more times, but Jacy couldn't keep her eyes closed forever, she really couldn't get over her girlfriends Gru reference.  Once the image was in her head, it simply just stuck.

And she went back on the market......

Moral of the story: Never let your friend's pick your dates apart, once one is referenced as a cartoon character, all bets are off.  Game Over!
